Drop Spindle Spinning Workshop, 2/23
Join us as we explore the history and mechanics of spinning, and use a drop spindle to create our very own yarn in this beginner drop spindle workshop. Whether you’re an experienced knitter or crocheter looking to expand your skills or entirely new to the world of fiber crafts, this workshop is for you. Spinning, though it might initially be daunting, has a rich history spanning thousands of years and offers a meditative creative outlet.
Offered Feb. 23, 12-2pm, or March 30, 12-2pm
$45 a person includes a drop spindle to keep, and fiber to get started!
Sewing Camp, 4th Grade and Up
For beginners or returning campers going into grades 4, 5, 6 (or equivalent). Sewing Camps run from 9:30 am to 12:30 Monday through Friday. Campers learn or review how to use a sewing machine and make a variety of projects like a patchwork pillow, a tote bag, an apron, and a stuffed animal. Projects are all gender neutral. Everything is supplied, including a machine to use at camp. Campers should bring a peanut-free snack to eat during our supervised outdoor break.
2025 Weekly Themes:
July 7-11 "Intro to the Basics"--The classic SewGreen Curriculum. Campers will make a patchwork pillow, a tote bag, an apron, a stuffed chicken, a drawstring bag, and more!
July 14-18 "My Room"--Among the classic projects will be a special emphasis on Handmade Decor perfect for your room!
July 21-25 "Stuffed friends"--Lets make some friends--literally! This week is for kids who love stuffies!
July 28-Aug 1 "Getting Cozy"--How about cozying up to your very own soft pillows in your custom made cozy pajama shorts--all of which you made yourself!
Tuition includes all the materials for the week, and use of our classroom sewing machines and tools.
Fashion Camp, 7th Grade and Up
Only a few left!
For beginners or returning campers going into grades 7, 8, 9, 10 (or equivalent). Fashion Camps run from 1:30 to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Campers learn or review how to use a sewing machine and explore using different types of fabric to make projects which might include a pocketed shoulder bag, a simple top, wrap pants, or a non-gendered romper or shorts. Everything is supplied, including a machine to use at camp. Projects and teachers vary from week to week, so signing up for multiple weeks does not mean you will be repeating projects! Campers should bring a peanut-free snack to eat during our supervised outdoor break and can bring money for goodies at Rashida Bakery.

Fiber Arts Camp for 7-10 yr olds

A fun week for our youngest campers! Campers will try their hands at sewing, embroidery, weaving, felting, dying, and stamping. Camp starts at 9:30 (with pre-care from 8:50am - 9:30 for a small additional fee) and goes to 12:30 with a supervised break for lunch and outdoor play. Taught by Draya Koschmann, owner of SewGreen and a YES teen assistant. Limited to six campers.
Sew a Minimalist Wardrobe, Spring/Summer Edition
Build your apparel sewing skills (and your wardrobe) with these progressively more challenging workshops. Take one, two, or all of them!
We provide the sewing machines, you pick out the fabric. SewGreen will have selected fabric to purchase for each project, or you can bring something from your stash. We suggest woven, non-stretchy, and soft apparel fabric like linen, gauze, cotton, etc.
March 8, 1-4pm: Sew a Tote Bag
In this introductory workshop, beginner sewists, or anyone in need of a refresh, will learn their way around a sewing machine and practice the basics by making a beautiful and functional tote bag.
March 22, 1-4: Sew a Boxy Top
Learn how to sew a minimalist modern top that's customizable and stylish.
April 12, 1-4: Sew a Gathered Skirt
Made for your body with a gathered elastic waist and optional in seam pockets, this is sure to be a project you will wear again and again.
April 26, 1-5: Sew a Pair of Shorts
Classic styling meets comfort in these elastic waist shorts with optional in seam pockets.
Learn to Sew on a Machine
A class series for total beginners, aged sixteen* to adult. Gain proficiency in machine sewing by making pajama shorts, a custom apron, a zipper pouch and more.
Wednesdays 6-8pm, Feb. 26-March 26.
(Optional: Sign up for Sewing with Knits for two more weeks of classes and additional sewing skills! April 2 and 9 same time)
*Younger teens are invited to join if participating with an adult also taking the class.
Sewing with Knits
Knits don't have to be out of reach! In this two session course, Katia Anible of Dima Custom Clothing will show you how to sew with knits on a regular sewing machine.

Knitting 101, 3/2, 12-2pm
Learn the foundations of knitting with Alyssa Welty! Offered on the first Sunday of each month from 12-2pm. Optional: Stay for Sewcial Knitting afterwards for an extra two hours of supported practice!
Materials:
Students are welcome to bring their own needles and yarn, or to purchase a material pack at the class with a skein of yarn and corresponding needles ($6 and up depending on the yarn).

Introduction to Embroidery
Explore the basics of creative embroidery--from fabrics, threads, and stitches with Margaret from Thread Lightly Sewing.

Sashiko 101, 3/9/25
Are you interested in learning simple hand-sewing skills that will allow you to reinforce and decorate clothing or accessories? Join us for an info session and practice beginning Sashiko stitching. We will also cover a quick trick using featherweight fusible interfacing to assist in transferring stitch templates.
Materials will be available for purchase the day of the class, or at SewGreen. Students are encouraged to bring their own items to mend or stitch on as well.

Lazy Rag Doll Workshop, 3/16/25
This is like doll making express! Make a little friend out of an already made "doll blank." This way you can have all the fun without having to follow a pattern or actually construct the doll. We'll add elements like hair, faces, clothing, etc. Doll blanks will be available to purchase, or bring your own. We'll provide floss, yarn, felt, buttons, and sweater scraps, but if you have your own snippets feel free to bring them!
This is designed as an adult class but teens are also welcome, and children can join with a parent/guardian who is also taking the class.

Jewelry from Aluminum Cans, 3/15/25
Jewelry from Recycled Materials 1: Aluminum Cans

The first workshop in the series of Jewelry from Recycled Materials taught by Draya Koschmann. Did you know that most households have a plethora of jewelry materials right in their recycle bin? In this workshop, participants will learn how to cut down aluminum cans into workable material, how to cut, shape, and decorate upcycled aluminum, and how to use their material to construct a pair of earrings and a pendant necklace. Materials are included but students are encouraged to bring anything from home they would like to incorporate like colored wire, beads, colorful cans.
This workshop is designed as an adult class, but teens are also welcome.
