Gelli Plate Printmaking, 10/25
Saturday 10/25, 1-4pm
Gelli plate printmaking is an accessible form of printmaking for beginners. Using pre-cut stencils and masks, and regular acrylic paint, you will work with your own plate to learn how to apply paint, masks, and stencils to pull prints and layer them to create fun works of art. Learn what paints work best, how to use a brayer to apply the paint to the gelli plate, and you will get to keep your plate and brayer so you can make more prints at home. You’ll learn how to care for and store your plate when not in use. We will cover what colors and papers work best for this for of printing, and more importantly, why. Gelli plate printing is fast, fun, and addictive.
In addition to the class fee, there is a $35 materials fee payable in cash to the instructor the night of class, which includes your 5x7” gelli plate and a 4” brayer to take home, as well as all the paint, paper, and other supplies you will use during class time.
